We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This privacy policy explains what data is collected when you visit the AcaLens website (acalens.com), how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

The AcaLens desktop application itself does not collect any analytics, telemetry, or personal data. This privacy policy applies only to the website.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit the site, Cloudflare may process your IP address and technical metadata (browser type, operating system, referrer URL) to deliver the page. Cloudflare acts as a data processor on our behalf. For details, see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

4. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google").

What is collected

Google Analytics collects the following information:

  • Pages visited and time spent on pages
  • File downloads (e.g. application installers)
  • Approximate geographic location (country/city level, derived from anonymized IP)
  • Device type, operating system, and browser
  • Referral source (how you reached the site)

IP anonymization

We have enabled IP anonymization (anonymize_ip: true). Google truncates your IP address within the EU before transmission to US servers. A full IP address is never stored.

Purpose and legal basis

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, which pages are most popular, and how many people download the application. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google Analytics is only activated after you click "Accept" on the cookie consent banner.

Cookies

When you consent, Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors. These cookies expire after 14 months.

Data transfer to third countries

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage (key: cookie-consent) or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also .

5. Download files

Application installers are served from Cloudflare R2 storage. Download requests are logged by Cloudflare in aggregated, anonymized form. We do not track individual downloads beyond the aggregate counters visible in Google Analytics.

6. No other data collection

This website does not use any other tracking services, advertising networks, social media plugins, or newsletter sign-up forms. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personally identifiable information through this website.
